Jake and Sara met "on the line" at Esca restaurant in New York in 2001. After working their way up the culinary ranks, Jake went on to open Abboccato in New York as executive chef while Sara opened the John Dory as chef de cuisine. In 2009, Jake had the opportunity to work with the Bistro Laurent Tourondel Group in Hong Kong. After an exciting and fulfilling three years, Jake and Sara opened their own restaurant, Doppio Zero in Sheung Wan, focusing on the pastas Jake had mastered during a previous two-year stint in Italy.
Having spent nearly six years in Hong Kong, Jake and Sara returned to Washington, D.C. where Jake headed up the kitchens of Osteria Bibiana Enoteca, The Occidental, and
Marra Forni as executive chef.
